A General Authority came to our mision for my Birthday!! 11-29-2021

Hello everyone! It's been a long and tiring week to be honest. Elder Arias and I slept in today which was nice. (We're allowed to on P-day.) We had two days of conferences with Elder Rafael Pino from the General Authority Seventy, we did service, we had a baptism, and we'll have another baptism in January! On Wednesday we had a mission conference with Elder Pino, and it was really good. It helped me to think of why I do each little thing each day, is it helping others here in Mexico? I realized I have been focusing a decent amount on myself to adjust to Mexico and learn Spanish and all that, but I need to look outside myself more in the smaller things. That night we taught a lesson to one of our friends and invited him to be baptized in January so that's cool. And we filled out the baptism forms for our friend that we had a baptism for this Saturday.  On Thursday it was my birthday (the big 20!), thank you to all of you who sent me wishes! I appreciate an...

A ride in a limo, and loconess. 11-22-2021

¡Hola todos! We had some experiences this week. We found people that seem really interested in the gospel. And we went all over the place, but that's the usual. We found a lot of new people to teach, through families and friends of members as well. Overall, a good week!  One experience we had was walking somewhere last P-day, and a lady stopped us asking is she could get a Book of Mormón, and she was willing to pay for one if necessary. She was so good, and we taught her two lessons this week with a member she already knows and she is so good! She was planning on coming to church yesterday, but she had a rally nasty fall. I will not share the pictures, bit it looks like her forehead got destroyed. But we'll do all we can to help her, she is stitched up an better now. We also found a lady pushing a wheelbarrow that we talked to for a while. She had met with missionaries before, and she wanted to meet again. We shared the Restoration with her and the spirit was real...

I fell into temptation 11-15-2021

So you're probably wondering the title of my email. Remember that cake I bought for 50 pesos ($2.50) a few weeks ago? I tried to stay away again but it went on SALE! 🤯😵 It cost 36 pesos ($1.75) this week. So I fell in temptation, I bought it and ate it in like 4 days. But it was worth it. We also had the baptism of our friend Paulina on Sunday it was such a good baptism! It rained just before which was cool as well, I love the rain. It was a little stressful preparing for the baptism and printing the programs, but everything worked out. It was a beautiful baptism, she has come such a long way in such a short time. The gospel has definitely been true and changed her life. We also had exchanges with the Elders from Coronango. We had a good time I learned a good amount of things from the Elder I was with, Elder Mariscal. He's really good, he likes to learn a lot of different things, and he's been trying really hard to learn English. He's so good. We also g...

Jeffrey R. Holland, Ice cream, and Water for Baptisms 11-8-2021

Hello everyone! So this week was crazy as normal, and I know I always say this, but there was a lot of miracles! Some brief stuff: It was one of the missionaries birthdays in our zone so we went and bought him a cake and celebrated with him for like 20 min. We visited Central Puebla last P-day, and it's full of shops and culture, it's so cool! And today we went to this cool burger place, the shakes were wild! We had baptismal interviews that went well for our friends thanks to our district leader and mission president. My Spanish has come a long way since I've got here, God is good. It's all Him in this work! I bought some Halloween mask, and yeah. It's really funny too, because kids only want money instead of candy for Halloween. 😂 And they dressed up and did that for 4 days after Halloween too! But yeah, I just want to share miracles and cool moments with you. (And remember, miracles come from acting in faith.) 1. We had a baptism yesterday, and the c...

The power of Abuelitas 11-1-2021!

¡Hola todos! This week has been really busy, and had some frustrating moments, but we are all good! We of course still saw some miracles, we were able to set a date for another one of our friends to be baptized, so that was pretty cool! We also went out one night with with the Elders quorum president of the 1st ward to visit a lot of less active members, and it was good. And a lot of people we visited actually came to church yesterday, so that was cool too! We also had lots of lessons this week in general. We had exchanges with the assistants this week too, and it was not what I expected. After that, let's just say I'm more grateful for the companion I have. 😐 That day wasn't very productive, but we took a bus for like an hour, to an hour and a half to visit someone for 20 minutes. We invited the guy to be baptized, so that was cool. We also helped a old Pentecostal lady push a wheelbarrow for a while this week, and I talked with her the whole time. She just...

Milagros y el don de lenguas Oct 25-2021!

Hola everyone! This week has been really good! We experienced some miracles, and at times I have actually been able to speak Spanish! I'll share some experiences with you! First off, there have been a few times this week where I have struck up conversations on a convi (smaller bus) with someone, and I was able to have a full conversation. It was crazy! Because normally, I'm not able to understand what people say, or express what I want to say, buy I was,  and it was cool, really cool. One of those ladies wasn't really interested, but we got to talk about her family and the culture here in Mexico so that was really neat. I know it wasn't my knowledge in Spanish that allowed me to communicate with some of these people. For some reason though, these past 2 days I haven't been able able understand or speak Spanish as well as other times this week, and it's been a little frustrating. But I learned most from this experience how it really is a gift from ...
