A General Authority came to our mision for my Birthday!! 11-29-2021
Hello everyone!
It's
been a long and tiring week to be honest. Elder Arias and I slept in
today which was nice. (We're allowed to on P-day.) We had two days of
conferences with Elder Rafael Pino from the General Authority Seventy,
we did service, we had a baptism, and we'll have another baptism in
January!
On Wednesday we had a mission
conference with Elder Pino, and it was really good. It helped me to
think of why I do each little thing each day, is it helping others here
in Mexico? I realized I have been focusing a decent amount on myself to
adjust to Mexico and learn Spanish and all that, but I need to look
outside myself more in the smaller things. That night we taught a lesson
to one of our friends and invited him to be baptized in January so
that's cool. And we filled out the baptism forms for our friend that we
had a baptism for this Saturday.
On Thursday
it was my birthday (the big 20!), thank you to all of you who sent me
wishes! I appreciate and love all of you! We had a 4 and a half hour
long Mission Leadership Council with Elder Pino which inspired me a lot.
My companion said he didn't like it, but I thought it was pretty good.
But we got a burger after which was pretty cool. I got to talk to some
of my Dad's side of the family at Thanksgiving which was a huge
blessing. And then our District leader and a member surprised me with a
cake, which apparently they don't even hardly eat down here, they just
destroy it with your face. And they did it to me, and my district leader
because he's going home, and Elder Arias did it too. So basically, we
didn't get to eat any of the cake. But don't worry, I bought another
one.
Friday
and Saturday we had some good lessons, but the main thing we did
Saturday was some community service of weeding out a soccer and
basketball field, and it was a lot of work. But we did get to talk to
some of the people serving that weren't members of the church, and got
some contact information for them! It was a great opportunity to talk to
others and serve the community. Then we went and taught a lesson, and
had to rush to prepare for a baptism we had. It was a 9 year old boy
named Ezra, and everything went pretty well. I also gave a talk which
was last minute so I didn't have anything prepared. But God is merciful,
and once again the gift of tongues is real! I was able to give a short
talk with no preparation without faltering at the words. God is good.
We
have transfers tomorrow, and I will be staying in the same area with my
companion. Our zone isn't changing too much which is good. I've also
learned a lot this week how to let the little things go that aren't
important to bring up to cause arguments or anything like that. I'm
learning a lot each day. Thank you for all of your continued support,
love you all!
Love
Elder Williams
