The only light I need is the light of Christ! 10-2-2021

 Hey everyone!

So Mexico has still been treating me well. I have been having more appointments with the bathroom this week, and we haven't had power in our apartment since Wednesday. And now we're out of gas for our water heater. But it's all good because the Gospel is true!

Don't worry, it still has been a good week, we had a lot of blessings and cool experiences. We had a baptism for our friend Rosa García so that was awesome. They had me conduct so I could work on my Spanish, I didn't want to but it turned out okay.  Rosa was definitely prepared, and she is so good! Her daughter was baptized a few months ago, and I think that's what's been helping her coming into the church and believing all of it. They fed us breakfast one morning since we don't have power and brought us tacos one night. They're so good!

Also bus rides here you have to hold on for life!  I wonder how often they have to replace their brakes, they use them a ton. But we rode the bus to a members house this week to have lunch. It was the usual food we get: spaghetti, bread, corn tortillas, and some type of meat. That's what almost all of our member meals are, but it's good. Afterwards one of the members wanted a blessing and he wanted me to do it. I was pretty scared, not gonna lie. And I didn't say hardly anything right, but the spirit spoke and that's what matters. He said thank you and hugged me twice afterwards, so I think I'm safe.

We had just a simple experience that I've been pondering on recently. We went and had our laundry done this week, and it was some guy that has some washers and dryers in his garage in his home. We left our clothes with him all day, and it was all of my clothes, so I was a little nervous. But when we picked them up, they were all folded really nice in their bags and was the cleanest they've been in a long time. Plue it was only about 4 US dollars. We talked with him for a minute and he said he is Catholic, but doesn't go to church or read the scriptures or pray. When President Oaks gave his talk today in General Conference, he mentioned that even though so many people don't go to church, we still believe in the good they can do because of the spirit that's given to everyone.

So there is good in the world in everyone, only look for the good in others and YOU will be happier!
