Is it gonna snow or no? 11-23-20

Image
Hello everyone!      As you can probably tell based off of my title, we still have not received snow. Which is kinda disappointing, I was looking forward to seeing a lot of Michigan snow but alas, it has yet to fall. We had a 100% chance for snow today, but it looks like it won't. But we'll see how that goes I suppose. It's been warm enough to run every morning down by the bay even!      But anyways, this has been such an amazing week! President Heap always says that "The Great MLM has been blessed!" And that is so true this work is picking up speed! And from what I hear from friends about other missions is just mind boggling! This work is so amazing, and important! I'm so blessed to be a part of this time and being a missionary although it can be hard and frustrating at times.       We were blessed with the opportunity to have zone conference this week! It went way over time, it was about 5 hours, but I wouldn't have rather...

1 Month!!

Hello everyone!       I hope you had a week as great as you all are! I have been out in the field a month now. Can you believe that!? Because I can't, the time is flying by way too fast. This week was a little crazy, but not too crazy at the same time. We had our normal Tuesday service at Habitat for Humanity and we actually had 3 lessons Wednesday! We were pretty busy that day, it was nice. Elder Keyser and I went down to Manistee to do trade offs with Elder Young our District Leader, and Elder Nichols his companion. Elder Nichols came out the same day as me, and he's supposed to go to Mexico as well. Elder Young is supposed to be in the Congo, and we found out some crazy things while I was with him. Our mission president called and told him that he can go back to the Congo, and Elder Young is leaving December 10! That's crazy! He's finally making it back, we're going to miss him! And we lost Hermana Garcia today from our district, her mission is over...

Ummm...I guess the warm is Back?

Hello everyone!!! So as you are probably wondering why my title is what it is. Well last week, I said that the cold weather had started here in Michigan, but boy was I wrong. This whole week was perfect weather! It was in the 60s and 70s, wasn't even slightly cold, in Michigan in November!! That is super crazy! Even back home in Arizona where it's supposed to be hot we had snow! But I hear the weather is supposed to plummet tomorrow, but I could be wrong again. I assume if it goes down it'll stay down for the rest of the winter, but we'll see.      This week went really well! I cannot believe how quickly the weeks and days are flying by, I feel like I can never do enough! I'm worried this will all be over before I know it! We have normally some form of mission devotional a day which is quite a bit, but I learn so much from each one! We have great leaders and all categories, there is always much to learn. One thing I have seen is the Lord is INCREASING T...

The cold has begun!!

Hello family and friends! It has been another fantastico week, and I hope all of yours was as well! We had many good devotionals this week and I learned much, and feel myself growing more each day in this gospel. It is truly amazing, I love my life! There is never a dull moment, and it's amazing to how the work can move forward even though we are in a time of quarantine and social distancing. It has been amazing to see, I have had so many people I've been able to talk to over Facebook here in this area.       We got to know a new lady named Antoinette this week and got to teach her a little bit, and it was amazing! She was so eager to learn, and she even came to church this week! After the first lesson! We also had another lesson this week with that guy that was a little crazy we taught for my first lesson. He says he believes the Book of Mormon is true, and that Joseph Smith was a prophet, but he just wants to study on his own. He says if he steps...

1st Week in the Field

Image
Hola everyone!      So it's been a crazy week and a half! I finally got to go through the temple on the 17th. That was a special experience, and I got to have some family and friends go through with us. The blessings of the temple are immeasurable! I was able to give my farewell talk the next day, and thank you to all that listened or came to support me! It means a lot to me! And then the next day on Monday I arrived here in Lansing. I LOVE it here so far! We arrived as a group of 20 coming into the field, it was crazy! We have well over 200 missionaries in this mission! I am assigned up here to Traverse City near the bay. It's super nice weather, I like it a little cold. It's been between the 30s and 50s. There is a super cool forest close by that has all sorts of trees, and it has a hippie area where the trees are spray painted. It's just really pretty with all the fall leaves and such.      My companion is Elder Keyser, he's pretty chill ho...

5 More Days

Hola everyone!      I hope all of you had a great week! Another week has gone by, and I'm just counting the days until I leave for the field! I can hardly wait!!! I was able to spend time with Elder Duncan, a friend of mine, before he left on his mission. He'll do great. I went to the Homecoming football game, and on Saturday we went to get a load of wood with my parents and grandparents. That was nice to get out for the day and to help my family get firewood. We also went to the valley for a couple days. It's still hot down there, and I'm looking forward to the cold of Michigan. I'm sure I'll regret that pretty quickly.       So I am giving my farewell talk this Sunday at noon, and if any of you want to come, you're invited. If you want to watch over Zoom, they will broadcast it at 12pm Mountain Standard Time. I will get a link out as soon as we get it. I get to go through the temple this Saturday as well, I am so excited!!! Also, when I ...

MTC is Over... Now the Wait!

Image
Hola Everyone!      So I want to apologize because I forgot to mention that I don't get the opportunity to leave for Michigan until the 19th of October. So I am not in Michigan yet, but I simply cannot wait to get there. But I have these extra 2 weeks to spend with family, which I am thankful for. My dad seems to really enjoy it, he has taken me out to get wood and to run errands and to go work with him. It's strange because I have been told nothing specific to do in this time, but I simply have to choose what will best help me to become a better missionary on my own. It teaches me self-discipline and patience, which I both need.      I miss my district from the MTC very much, but I know we all have to move on in the work and I know they will do fantastic. I could not have asked for better teachers and friends to make over 6 weeks, and we have already talked about plans to meet up afterwards haha. I am the last one to leave in my district.   ...
