Clean up Time! 1-17-2022

Image
Hey y'all! Here I am again, livin' the good life! It's been a good week here in Ometoxtla and Coronango, we've seen a lot of blessings and miracles! First of all, on Tuesday we had to go help with transfers with Elder Mendoza who was living with us, and then we had to go meet up somewhere to give the new Hermanas our old phone. We also went and bought a lot of stuff to clean the house, then we went to a Brazilian steakhouse buffet. It was pretty pricey for here in Mexico, but we needed it, and it was pretty good. When we got home, we had a mission correlation meeting for Ometoxtla, and to be honest, it was awesome. These members have a lot of faith and are excited to work with us as new Elders. Afterwards, we went home to clean the house, and we ended up cleaning the house until like 3am, it was quite the mess. But now it's much much better. (This makes his mom proud!) Wednesday we went on a tour in the area with a member, and we visited some families...

Una boda Mexicana! 1-10-2022

Oh hey everyone! First of all, I'm leaving my area today. Transfer day is here. Elder Arias (my companion) and I will both be leaving here in Almecatla, and they're going to replace us with Hermanas. We are both going to stay together and go to Ometoxla, still in our stake! We said goodbye to a lot of people yesterday, and we cried and we laughed, and all of that. I'm going to miss these wards, but we aren't going too far. It'll be starting from ground zero, so I'm a bit excited but it'll be hard for sure. But who doesn't like a challenge right? This week we also prepared for and had a baptism. It was really great, the water was the warmest it's ever been, everything went pretty well. There were members cleaning the church, so they got to join us for the baptism too! It was great! Their names are Gogan and José, and I baptized Gogan, who is the younger one. As well, they were confirmed members of the church in Sacrament meeting yesterd...

Feliz Ano 1-03-2022

Hello Everyone! It's been a roller-coaster of a week, that's for sure. Many different things all over the place. Let me fill you in. In the beginning of the week, we contacted a lot by knocking doors, and we saw a lot of success it was awesome. We gave out like 20 copies of the Book of Mormón, and for the first time ever a family let us in to teach a lesson right then and there. Some good stuff, that's for sure. We also prepared quite a bit for a baptism we were supposed to have yesterday, but the kids that were going to be baptized got sick yesterday. It was a little sad, but not to worry, it will happen this week for sure. We just have to remake and print the programs again because now the date is wrong. 😬 We had a pretty good time for New Years, we spent it with a family from the Almecatla 1st ward, and it was really fun. We broke piñatas, we watched them throw fireworks, (because we can't) and we ate a lot. The food we had was called "carnitas...

FELIZ NAVIDAD Y NUEVO AÑO! 12-27-2021

¡Hola a todos, FELIZ NAVIDAD Y NUEVO AÑO! This week has been super crazy too, my goodness. We sang so many Christmas songs, and I carried my guitar around a ton. We got chased by lots of dogs, had a mission Christmas party, and we ate so much food. We also made a lot of cards for members and little candy bags so that was cool. To start off Tuesday we had a mission devotional that caught everyone off guard. Our mission president said at the end that if we aren't willing to work or be obedient to mission rules, we should just go home. That caught us off guard, but it resonated in our souls, it made me want to be a better missionary. And then we taught some lessons that day, then we went with a decent sized group from our second ward to sing Christmas Carols to widows and single women, it was really powerful to feel the spirit of music. On Wednesday we spent the whole day as a mission with lots of games, food, devotionals, and a musical presentation from each zone. Ours...

Mal del Puerco 12-20-2021 😖

Hello everyone! I swear each week keeps getting wilder and wilder. This has been a pretty wild week. I don't even know where to start.  We have had little time to find and teach people which has been kinda sad, but we have been keeping busy. To start off, we did make it home safely from District council this last P-day, thankfully. Tuesday we had interviews with President Montejo at the stake center which was really good. He gave me some good advice, but most importantly I could feel the love he had for me. That was powerful to me, and it goes to show when we love people, they can feel it and are more likely to trust us and follow our council. That's why I've been trying so hard to have charity throughout my mission for others, and the power of Charity is real. (Charity is described as the pure love of Christ).  That same day on Tuesday we practiced singing some more for the ward Christmas party that we had on Friday, and then we had one lesson. In that less...

Music and the Power of Christ 12-13-2021

Hello everyone! It's been a busy week full of lots of meetings and music practice. We had a mission Leadership council, mission devotional, a ward missionary activity, and lots more. The music stuff basically, is one of the wards we work with wanted to do some choir/ caroling activity for the youth, and they found out I could play the guitar, so they wanted me to play the guitar for it. 😬 So I learned like 6 Christmas songs on guitar and we went for it. The only problem is that like all the youth either don't want to sing, or have some fear. So this will be interesting. But it's good for me, I've been playing the guitar which I love, and almost trying to direct, I'm learning a lot. Also, our zone has to do a musical presentation for a mission Christmas conference. So I will also be playing the guitar and we'll be doing a dance as well, wish us luck. This will be our first day practicing as a zone.  Last Monday when we were trying to get back from...
