Una boda Mexicana! 1-10-2022

 Oh hey everyone!

First of all, I'm leaving my area today. Transfer day is here. Elder Arias (my companion) and I will both be leaving here in Almecatla, and they're going to replace us with Hermanas. We are both going to stay together and go to Ometoxla, still in our stake! We said goodbye to a lot of people yesterday, and we cried and we laughed, and all of that. I'm going to miss these wards, but we aren't going too far. It'll be starting from ground zero, so I'm a bit excited but it'll be hard for sure. But who doesn't like a challenge right?

This week we also prepared for and had a baptism. It was really great, the water was the warmest it's ever been, everything went pretty well. There were members cleaning the church, so they got to join us for the baptism too! It was great! Their names are Gogan and José, and I baptized Gogan, who is the younger one. As well, they were confirmed members of the church in Sacrament meeting yesterday, and we went up there to assist, but Gogan wanted me to confirm him to. My heart skipped a beat, because I haven't ever confirmed anyone, and in Spanish in front of the whole ward! But it was an awesome experience and I was grateful for it. "When the time to act has come, the time for preparation is over"

I had a good exchange this week with one of our assistants named Elder Forbes, he and I went to their area, and my companion went to our area with the other assistant. We went up the mountain a bit in the area, way out in the country. We went to visit a family where the Grandma apparently doesn't even speak Spanish, only a dialect. But they weren't there, and basically all of our other lessons that day canceled too. But we had a good time, we got to talk a lot about school, life, scriptures, books, everything. I had a good day and learned a lot. And we did have some unplanned lessons that were really cool.

Another day this week we went all the way up to Tlaxcala. (Another state in Mexico that's in our mission) The whole mission had to go up to Tlaxcala to get a covid test. It was my first time receiving one, and it wasn't too pleasant. But that took up most the day, it was good to be able to meet with and hang our with other missionaries. Afterwards we went and had some seafood in that restaurant with the members again.

We had another Elder dropped off with us for the weekend because his companion finished the mission. So we've been trio-ing it up for the weekend. Then we found out about transfers, so basically we tried to say goodbye to everyone and then we packed our suitcases until late last night. But don't worry, we had our fun Saturday night...

We went to a wedding of one of the families in the Almecatla 1 ward Saturday. It was fun, and there was a lot of fun traditional dances they had. They also had a band for one part, and a mariachi group. It was a good time. And we had permission from President, so it's even better.

But yeah, I'm headed out to Ometoxla now. I hope you all have a good week, and take care of yourselves! God loves you, I love you!
