FELIZ NAVIDAD Y NUEVO AÑO! 12-27-2021

¡Hola a todos, FELIZ NAVIDAD Y NUEVO AÑO!

This week has been super crazy too, my goodness. We sang so many Christmas songs, and I carried my guitar around a ton. We got chased by lots of dogs, had a mission Christmas party, and we ate so much food. We also made a lot of cards for members and little candy bags so that was cool.

To start off Tuesday we had a mission devotional that caught everyone off guard. Our mission president said at the end that if we aren't willing to work or be obedient to mission rules, we should just go home. That caught us off guard, but it resonated in our souls, it made me want to be a better missionary. And then we taught some lessons that day, then we went with a decent sized group from our second ward to sing Christmas Carols to widows and single women, it was really powerful to feel the spirit of music.

On Wednesday we spent the whole day as a mission with lots of games, food, devotionals, and a musical presentation from each zone. Ours wasn't that good, because we practiced once for like 15 min. But we weren't the only ones, so it was OK. I also accidentally fell asleep during parts of the devotional, and every time I did when I opened my eyes my mission president was staring at me so that was kinda funny. As well, when my group got to hit the piñata I got the most candy, so there's that. But it was a really good day, it was good to be with so many missionaries.

Thursday we went to day from 7am to like 8:30pm taking cards and candy to member families and singing songs. Lots and lots of walking, lots of sun, and lots of good members that we visited. The dogs were unusually crazy that day, and we couldn't get past some dirt roads cause there was guardian street dogs or something. So that was interesting.

Friday was Nochebuena which is the crazy day for celebrations. We ate Breakfast lunch and dinner with different members, and taught some lessons and contacted people, it was a good time. We also had two massive dogs chase us which was pretty wild. That night was pretty wild, we spent it with a recent convert family, and they wouldn't let us leave until really late. So that was kinda awkward, cause we needed to be home by 10, but they just kept telling us we couldn't go, and we needed a ride from them. So we were at their mercy.

Christmas itself was a good day, our mission president gave us permission to sleep in thankfully, and so I got up at like 8:30 it was nice. I got to talk to my family which was great, and then we went and contacted and taught some more. We also went and did some service for some members cleaning dishes and stuff. Some people have a ridiculous amount of dishes.

Sunday was great of course, we had one hour Sacrament meetings and had the Stake Presidency come and talk. Then we did some more service cleaning dishes, taught, and celebrated the birthday of our recent convert Paulina. Also, her two sons have a baptismal date for this next Sunday, so that'll be super good. Things have been super crazy this week, and I didn't even write about the half of it.

I hope you all had a great Christmas and are doing well! It's my last Christmas in the mission which is wild, the time is coming soon. Love you all, have a great week!
