FELIZ NAVIDAD Y NUEVO AÑO! 12-27-2021

¡Hola a todos, FELIZ NAVIDAD Y NUEVO AÑO! This week has been super crazy too, my goodness. We sang so many Christmas songs, and I carried my guitar around a ton. We got chased by lots of dogs, had a mission Christmas party, and we ate so much food. We also made a lot of cards for members and little candy bags so that was cool. To start off Tuesday we had a mission devotional that caught everyone off guard. Our mission president said at the end that if we aren't willing to work or be obedient to mission rules, we should just go home. That caught us off guard, but it resonated in our souls, it made me want to be a better missionary. And then we taught some lessons that day, then we went with a decent sized group from our second ward to sing Christmas Carols to widows and single women, it was really powerful to feel the spirit of music. On Wednesday we spent the whole day as a mission with lots of games, food, devotionals, and a musical presentation from each zone. Ours...

Hello everyone! I swear each week keeps getting wilder and wilder. This has been a pretty wild week. I don't even know where to start.  We have had little time to find and teach people which has been kinda sad, but we have been keeping busy. To start off, we did make it home safely from District council this last P-day, thankfully. Tuesday we had interviews with President Montejo at the stake center which was really good. He gave me some good advice, but most importantly I could feel the love he had for me. That was powerful to me, and it goes to show when we love people, they can feel it and are more likely to trust us and follow our council. That's why I've been trying so hard to have charity throughout my mission for others, and the power of Charity is real. (Charity is described as the pure love of Christ).  That same day on Tuesday we practiced singing some more for the ward Christmas party that we had on Friday, and then we had one lesson. In that less...

Music and the Power of Christ 12-13-2021

Hello everyone! It's been a busy week full of lots of meetings and music practice. We had a mission Leadership council, mission devotional, a ward missionary activity, and lots more. The music stuff basically, is one of the wards we work with wanted to do some choir/ caroling activity for the youth, and they found out I could play the guitar, so they wanted me to play the guitar for it. 😬 So I learned like 6 Christmas songs on guitar and we went for it. The only problem is that like all the youth either don't want to sing, or have some fear. So this will be interesting. But it's good for me, I've been playing the guitar which I love, and almost trying to direct, I'm learning a lot. Also, our zone has to do a musical presentation for a mission Christmas conference. So I will also be playing the guitar and we'll be doing a dance as well, wish us luck. This will be our first day practicing as a zone.  Last Monday when we were trying to get back from...

I ate a little boy's cake! 12-6-2021

Hey everyone! This week has been a roller coaster, that's for sure. We had transfers, I'm still with my companion from Chihuahua, Elder Arias. We have a new district leader now and we have more Americans than Mexicans in our zone now. So our ability to speak Spanish as a zone has diminished a bit. 😂 We have a new Elder here that is from Arizona too! Let's go! We've seen some cool miracles in finding people through service. We don't see too much success in just talking with people in the street or the bus, but when we do something to serve them, even just something small, they are a lot more willing to learn about Jesus Christ from us. It's cool to see that.  We also had a big service project this Saturday where we cleared the side of the main road of all the bushes and dirt and weeds, and then repainted the concrete sides. And there was this nasty dead dog, not so cool. But it's always good to just work hard and not have to worry about anythi...

A General Authority came to our mision for my Birthday!! 11-29-2021

Hello everyone! It's been a long and tiring week to be honest. Elder Arias and I slept in today which was nice. (We're allowed to on P-day.) We had two days of conferences with Elder Rafael Pino from the General Authority Seventy, we did service, we had a baptism, and we'll have another baptism in January! On Wednesday we had a mission conference with Elder Pino, and it was really good. It helped me to think of why I do each little thing each day, is it helping others here in Mexico? I realized I have been focusing a decent amount on myself to adjust to Mexico and learn Spanish and all that, but I need to look outside myself more in the smaller things. That night we taught a lesson to one of our friends and invited him to be baptized in January so that's cool. And we filled out the baptism forms for our friend that we had a baptism for this Saturday.  On Thursday it was my birthday (the big 20!), thank you to all of you who sent me wishes! I appreciate an...

¡Hola todos! We had some experiences this week. We found people that seem really interested in the gospel. And we went all over the place, but that's the usual. We found a lot of new people to teach, through families and friends of members as well. Overall, a good week!  One experience we had was walking somewhere last P-day, and a lady stopped us asking is she could get a Book of Mormón, and she was willing to pay for one if necessary. She was so good, and we taught her two lessons this week with a member she already knows and she is so good! She was planning on coming to church yesterday, but she had a rally nasty fall. I will not share the pictures, bit it looks like her forehead got destroyed. But we'll do all we can to help her, she is stitched up an better now. We also found a lady pushing a wheelbarrow that we talked to for a while. She had met with missionaries before, and she wanted to meet again. We shared the Restoration with her and the spirit was real...

I fell into temptation 11-15-2021

So you're probably wondering the title of my email. Remember that cake I bought for 50 pesos ($2.50) a few weeks ago? I tried to stay away again but it went on SALE! 🤯😵 It cost 36 pesos ($1.75) this week. So I fell in temptation, I bought it and ate it in like 4 days. But it was worth it. We also had the baptism of our friend Paulina on Sunday it was such a good baptism! It rained just before which was cool as well, I love the rain. It was a little stressful preparing for the baptism and printing the programs, but everything worked out. It was a beautiful baptism, she has come such a long way in such a short time. The gospel has definitely been true and changed her life. We also had exchanges with the Elders from Coronango. We had a good time I learned a good amount of things from the Elder I was with, Elder Mariscal. He's really good, he likes to learn a lot of different things, and he's been trying really hard to learn English. He's so good. We also g...
