Door Knocking has Commenced! 4-26-2021

Image
Hello everyone! Welcome back to ye olde weekly from Elder Williams! It has seriously been a crazy week, we are always doing something! We called through the rest of the members that haven't been to church in a long time, and then we have started knocking on their doors! Which is super cool! We can only knock on members doors as of right now though. We found out the church records are way old though, one guy hadn't lived at the address we had for 5 years. And one house looked like it hadn't been used for months. Because of this push we are doing to help out some of the members, we have gotten to meet with some of the members and it's been really special. Most of them didn't even know we had church in person back yet. And it's always cool to meet new people, they are still disappointed they can't feed us meals yet. As are we. We also had to take Shelly off of her date for baptism which was really sad. She just isn't quite ready yet, and there...

The end of another Sprint 4-19-2021

¿Que es arriba? Hey everyone, welcome back to another weekly! We had our third Sprint week since I've been out here, and the goals were even higher! It was a busy week, and we met our goals again as a companionship! We saw a lot of miracles, our faith grew a lot, and a lot of laughter was had. There is never a dull moment in this apartment.  The weather has been all over the place, and the same with Covid. There's a lot of people in the area that have it. So send your prayers if you can! One of the really cool miracles I saw this week was the opportunity in inviting people to church. There was two guys that I decided to invite that we've met once before and they didn't seem too interested in church and religion. But they both watched over Zoom, and they both texted afterwards to say thank you for inviting them. That was really cool to see, normally people don't text to say thanks after coming to church. So hopefully we can see some progression in them....

The Calm Before the Storm 4-12-2021

Oh hey! What's up everyone! This week has been a good week! It's been a fun start to the transfer! I really like my new companion Elder Clark a lot, and I don't think it's a coincident that he's from Arizona too. 😉 It's sad to say goodbye to Elder Hatch and Roberts, but it's good to switch up things a bit. So we are preparing for another Sprint week, were we have really high goals of people we are going to invite to learn, read the Book of Mormon, and come to church as well as members we will meet with. So this P day will be the calm before the storm, because we are going to go as hard as we can this week! So send out your prayers this week for Michigan!  One miracle we saw this week was David reached out again after a couple weeks, we thought he had disappeared. And we got to meet with Joe again after like a month! He is doing well, but his mom is against us meeting with him. So please pray for him as well. We are still working with Shelly, t...

Transfers and Easter and Conference Oh My! 4-5-2021

What is up everybody! HAPPY EASTER!! This has been such an amazing week, I will always remember it! First of all, it was the last week of the transfer and the last week training Elder Roberts, so that's exciting! So it turns out I will be STAYING in TC another transfer!?!? That's so crazy, I am so excited!! Elder Clark is coming up from Grand Rapids tomorrow, and it will be a blast! I've heard he is from Arizona as well! Elder Roberts is going down to Lansing, and Elder Hatch is going to zone lead over the Grand Rapids zone now. It will be weird not living with him, we've lived together 6 months now. They will be missed! We were also able to have Jon's baptism yesterday, and what an amazing experience that was! He was so ready to accept the gospel in his life when we first met him, he is amazing! He has such a love for the scriptures and has studied the bible his whole life, but he said the Bible didn't completely make sense until he read the Book ...

Hello everyone! This week has been such a good week! We had some more Elders over to do exchanges with the Zone Leaders this week and it was really fun! And we got to do exchanges ourselves! It was a blast, we had the Gaylord Elders over and the Petoskey Elders. It was super fun, every time we have Elders come over we go to this soda shop called Rocket Fizz. I've been there so many times since I've been here, they  have all these fun flavors of soda! There are so many, and they are all come in bottles. When we are done we smash them with our bare hands. Yeah, that's right. We had a lot of good lessons this week, we met with Jon a few times, Shelly a few times, the Millner family a few times, Maida a few times, and it was great! Unfortunately, something came up for Maida's baptism and it will be postponed for now. But she is still super excited to continue learning and eventually be baptized! And some more exciting news! We were abl...

BBQ and Zone Conference in Traverse City! 3-22-2021

Hola! What is up everyone? This week has been such a great week! We had interviews (virtually again sadly), Zone Conference, some good ol' trade offs and BBQ with President! Also, I am able to eat ice cream again! So it's been a good week! We had a really great lesson with Jon last week, and it was a really great Restoration lesson with him! He expressed a desire to be baptized, and so we were able to put him on date for April 10! 🥳🎉🎊 It's super exciting!! And we have Maida's baptism this Saturday, so please pray that all will go well, and that she'll be ready! We're also meeting with this lady named Shelly recently, and she seems promising! She's came to church in person two weeks in a row since we've met! We also were able to have the Manistee Elders over this week, and have the APs stay the night before zone conference. We were also able to go over to Houghton Lake Saturday to do a trade off with them! This week has been super fun wit...

Some of the cool features of ice and snow that form along Lake Michigan in the Winter time.   I guess when you spend all of your time on the phone doing meetings and findings you got to have a little fun with some of the Filters they have on there. haha   Not even sure who he is talking to on these calls.   Here is where the magic happens in his apartment in Traverse City. His little office area where he spends a good portion of his days.   Elder Roberts enjoying the view of the city from the Lake.   They were able to spend the day sledding on one of their P-days. He was so grateful to be able to get outside with all the other missionaries and it looks like a pretty good little hill to sled down. Silly Missionaries!   Looks like a beautiful day at the Lake. They spend a lot of their P-days going down to the Lake to check it out. This has been a pretty mild winter compared to most from what he is hearing from the locals.   Good thing this...
