The end of another Sprint 4-19-2021
¿Que es arriba?
Hey everyone, welcome
back to another weekly! We had our third Sprint week since I've been out
here, and the goals were even higher! It was a busy week, and we met
our goals again as a companionship! We saw a lot of miracles, our faith
grew a lot, and a lot of laughter was had. There is never a dull moment
in this apartment. The weather has been all over the place, and the
same with Covid. There's a lot of people in the area that have it. So
send your prayers if you can!
One
of the really cool miracles I saw this week was the opportunity in
inviting people to church. There was two guys that I decided to invite
that we've met once before and they didn't seem too interested in church
and religion. But they both watched over Zoom, and they both texted
afterwards to say thank you for inviting them. That was really cool to
see, normally people don't text to say thanks after coming to church. So
hopefully we can see some progression in them.
We
also met with our friend Wasirwa in Uganda, and he wants us to teach
his whole congregation! That's so crazy! We are hoping to connect him
with some missionaries that live near him. That would be so amazing!
Last Monday, we had a guy that served here as a missionary 30 years ago
visit Traverse City! And he wanted to buy us lunch! So that was super
cool, and super nice of him. It was really interesting to compare what
the mission looked like 30 years ago vs now. And we had district p day at
the church, so that was a fun day!
We
spent a lot of time calling some inactive members and planning some
routes. We are hoping to knock on some of their doors this week! So
things are going to be busy again!
Also,
Doug our recent convert gave a talk yesterday at church about the
Atonement of Jesus Christ. It was so amazing, he quoted so many great
scriptures, and had a great acronym for ACTION for our prayers!
Adoration for Jesus Christ
Confession of our sins and failures
Thankfulness
Intercession
Opportunities
Needs
So it was a really great week! Thank you for all your prayers and support and friendship! Have a great week all of you!
Elder Williams
On the phone call this week Elder Williams let us know that Maida was able to come to church for the first time in person and that was a neat experience. He also mentioned that the Spanish Elders up in Traverse City now have the Covid and will have to be under quarantine. Justin and his companions are going tomorrow to get the covid vaccine so that if they are able to go to their original assignments they will be ready to go. Hopefully he won't have any adverse reactions.
