Hello everyone! This week has been such a good week! We had some more Elders over to do exchanges with the Zone Leaders this week and it was really fun! And we got to do exchanges ourselves! It was a blast, we had the Gaylord Elders over and the Petoskey Elders. It was super fun, every time we have Elders come over we go to this soda shop called Rocket Fizz. I've been there so many times since I've been here, they  have all these fun flavors of soda! There are so many, and they are all come in bottles. When we are done we smash them with our bare hands. Yeah, that's right. We had a lot of good lessons this week, we met with Jon a few times, Shelly a few times, the Millner family a few times, Maida a few times, and it was great! Unfortunately, something came up for Maida's baptism and it will be postponed for now. But she is still super excited to continue learning and eventually be baptized! And some more exciting news! We were abl...

Hola! What is up everyone? This week has been such a great week! We had interviews (virtually again sadly), Zone Conference, some good ol' trade offs and BBQ with President! Also, I am able to eat ice cream again! So it's been a good week! We had a really great lesson with Jon last week, and it was a really great Restoration lesson with him! He expressed a desire to be baptized, and so we were able to put him on date for April 10! 🥳🎉🎊 It's super exciting!! And we have Maida's baptism this Saturday, so please pray that all will go well, and that she'll be ready! We're also meeting with this lady named Shelly recently, and she seems promising! She's came to church in person two weeks in a row since we've met! We also were able to have the Manistee Elders over this week, and have the APs stay the night before zone conference. We were also able to go over to Houghton Lake Saturday to do a trade off with them! This week has been super fun wit...

Some of the cool features of ice and snow that form along Lake Michigan in the Winter time.   I guess when you spend all of your time on the phone doing meetings and findings you got to have a little fun with some of the Filters they have on there. haha   Not even sure who he is talking to on these calls.   Here is where the magic happens in his apartment in Traverse City. His little office area where he spends a good portion of his days.   Elder Roberts enjoying the view of the city from the Lake.   They were able to spend the day sledding on one of their P-days. He was so grateful to be able to get outside with all the other missionaries and it looks like a pretty good little hill to sled down. Silly Missionaries!   Looks like a beautiful day at the Lake. They spend a lot of their P-days going down to the Lake to check it out. This has been a pretty mild winter compared to most from what he is hearing from the locals.   Good thing this...

No Snow, and No Ice Cream?! 3-15-2021

Hola todos! This week has been proof that fasting and prayers work! As you may remember, two weeks ago, we had a lot of people tell us they didn't want to meet anymore and it was just a rough week overall. So last Sunday we fasted to find more people to teach and to see miracles. Then we set a goal to find 2 new people to teach and have 3 people to come to church. And we found 3 new people to teach, and we had 3 people come to church! Now those numbers might not be big, but they were a miracle for us!  We also had a good ol' time with some other Elders this week! We had the Alpena Elders come over Thursday, then the Petoskey Elders come over Friday, and on Saturday Elder Roberts and I went down to Manistee. So it was a fun week! Down in Manistee we met with this guy named Chris who has seen huge change in his life, especially recently. He was super cool, and then he took us out to dinner that night. He told us he would be mad if we didn't get good food, so na...

Letter Home 3-8-2021

This is a letter that Elder Williams sent to us in response to us asking how things are going with his companion Elder Roberts that he has been training for the last 8 weeks or so. We can tell there has been a struggle for him but he has not been able to open up in our phone conversations as they share an apartment but here is where his struggles lie. It has been helpful to us to be able to pray specifically for him. Here's hoping to see some improvement for him.   The prayers are much needed here, I really appreciate it. This week has been hard, not gonna lie. We got dropped by people who don't want to be taught anymore, and we had to drop people because they weren't responding or wouldn't come through on several lessons. We had the Houghton Lake and Grayling Elders over, so that was fun.  I had a good talk with Elder Hatch and Hunter when Elder Roberts was asleep one night. They gave me some advice on how to help, but we're running out of ideas. They told ...

Then there were two! 3-8-2021

Hello everyone!     There wasn't anything too exciting this week, we had a lot of people that we were teaching either disappear or tell us they don't want to meet anymore. So that's been a little bit hard. The family that we met with last Sunday where I played guitar told us they are not interested in the church. And the only people that we're really teaching now is Joe and Maida.      Maida is doing really well, we met virtually this week and she seemed to have recovered pretty well from Covid. And she was able to watch a baptism this Saturday in Cheboygan and church. She talked about how strong she felt the spirit during both. Its It's really amazing the technology we have and the fact that we can feel the spirit no matter where we are is so amazing! Joe hasn't been doing as well, we didn't get to meet with him this week and he didn't come to church.      We also had the Elders from Grayling and Houghton Lake come over to have trade...

Ice Age- The Meltdown 3-1-2021

Hey everyone! This week has been a good adjustment to a new transfer! I forgot to mention last email, but Elder Johnson got transferred down to Grand Rapids to train a new missionary. We now have Elder Hunter here as a zone leader. He's a cool guy too, he's from Tri Cities Washington. So this transfer will be really good too!  So it warmed up quite a bit this week, we saw 45 degrees one day! So sadly the bay is no longer frozen over, and those ice volcanoes are basically slush right now. We could still go and walk on them, but I fell through a few times. It was still fun though, I'm not sure how much longer they'll last. The meltdown has begun. We were able to find two new people this week, their names are Steev and Cameron. Steev plays a lot of instruments, so that's really cool, Cameron actually fell of a roof a little while ago and broke his back. So he'll be in a brace for 12 weeks he said, so please pray for him. We were able to share the restor...
