The harvest is great and the laborers are few. 5-23-2022
Hola a todos!
This was a good first week to start off this transfer. We invited 2 people to be baptized, we found 4 new people to teach, we gave 25 copies of the Book of Mormรณn to people and we had 10 people come to church. It was great. ๐
My new companion Elder Webster is really good, he is probably the best at contacting and most dedicated that I've seen on the mission. He always contacts people on the convis, which I hate doing so that's cool. And he always contacts girls around our age and he always gets their numbers and gives them a Book of Mormon. ๐ So it's been fun and interesting to watch. And he definitely is from the Midwest. He reminds me a little bit of Michigan, because the people in Michigan talk quite a bit. And he does too. He's good.
So this week we had a devotional as a mission and we read a letter together that was from Elder Gong (one of the apostles in the world today) and it was directed to all of Mexico. In the letter he said many times "Now is the time for Mexico" and so the time is right for miracles and blessings to be poured out on Mexico. And we are already seeing its effects. And we will see much more.
One of those blessings we've seen is we finally got the chance to meet with our stake presidency, and it was a really good meeting. We planned that we will have a meeting with them every other week from now on, and they told every Bishop that we need to be in the ward councils and it was great. After trying for 6 weeks to meet with the Stake president it was such a great blessing to be able to meet with them and to plan. And another day this week for food, the stake President took us to eat at a buffet so that was super cool. He seems to have a lot more trust and respect for us now. It's great.
We also had interviews with President Montejo this week. And it didn't end well... My last companion had gone to another area in the zone and he is like a phone wizard, and he found a lot of stuff the last Elders had done and told President in interviews. And so two missionaries from our zone got shipped out of the zone super quick, and we're pretty sure they're at home. So we now have 6 missionaries in the whole zone. And 8 wards. ๐
. We think we're going to receive another ward this week but we're not sure. And so we can see that the harvest is great and the laborers are few...
Even though that was sad, and even though a lot of people say they don't want to hear us, the work is still moving forward with a lot of speed. And miracles happen every day! ๐
I love you all, and hope you have a good week!
Elder Williams
