Happy Memorial Day! 5-30-2022

Hey everyone!! Happy Memorial Day!!!! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²

I may not be in the United States to celebrate it, but I can still take the time to remember those who have fought for our freedoms and rights, and I will always be grateful for those brave men and women. Also I'm using an American flag tie today so that's cool.

This week went really well. We have been very busy. We've visited lots of members, and we have given lots of copies of the Book of Mormon, and we found 10 new people to teach! It was some awesome stuff. But sadly only 4 people came to church, so that was a bit of a bummer.

I also got kinda sick for just a couple days (thanks to my companion πŸ™„πŸ˜‚) I realized it was the first time I got sick on the mission that didn't have to do with my stomach. So I had a headache and little sore throat and the works. But we went out anyways and taught and found, I just made sure to bring extra hand sanitizer and the works. And everything went well, I was only sick for a couple days.

Also, like I mentioned last week, two missionaries went home from my zone and another missionary as well. So we were gonna have a mission conference with everyone together in Puebla last week, but President wanted to have zoom meetings with the zones instead. And it was a pretty big chewing out. We were chastised a bit as a mission for obedience reasons, and reminded of the blessings of obedience. I'm glad we have been doing what we're supposed to, but President laid it down hard. He also laid it on us pretty thick for some other things yesterday in the mission leadership group. So we will be working on improving the small things.

People always wonder, why does God require us to keep commandments? Why do we have to be obedient? If he really loved us, wouldn't he give us more freedom? It's a hard principle to understand sometimes, even for me, but the best way to know for ourselves why we should be obedient is to try it. To have the faith and trust in God to know what he's talking about. And if we try it, we will experience what King Benjamin taught in the Book of Mormon:

Mosiah 2:41 And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual...

So please, if you are struggling with understanding a commandment, or a council from your parents or leaders, just trust in them, but more importantly trust in God. He knows what's best for us. 😁😁

I love you all, and have a great memorial day!
