We still have the meats. πŸ˜ͺπŸ’ͺ 3-28-2022

Hey everyone! Espero que se encuentren bien. 😁

So this last P-day I decided to treat myself a little bit. I bought some nice looking hamburger patties, two different kinds of chorizo, and cheese. πŸ€‘ (cheese is not cheap in Mexico) And then we got back home to the apartment and there was no power...😢 And no power means no fridge or freezer. So that wasn't good since I had all this meat. So we put it in the freezer cause it was still kinda cool and prayed the power would be on when we came back. When we came back the power was still off, but I got the inspiration to ask our neighbors if we could use their freezer, and long story short we saved the meats. πŸ™‚

Tuesday we went and did service for the recycling people again. Our job this time was to sort through smoke alarms and take out any metal or anything that wasn't just the plastic. And they had a TON of smoke detectors, i didn't think there would be that many smoke detectors in all of Puebla. The members we were supposed to meet with had an emergency so they gave us money and we bought lunch. We bought 2 burgers and a pizza with 2 liter for like $15 dollars. The pizza said it was German and it was interesting haha. Afterwards we went and taught some good lessons, our friend we're teaching named Antonia says she wants to get baptized, but she's not sure what day she can. So we'll keep working with her. We also had a good Mission Coordination meeting that night, but we started and went a little bit late.

Wednesday we went to give some blessings to members that are very inactive. It was good to be with them, and they were very excited to hear that they're building a temple in Puebla so close. But they're not willing to go to church and prepare so that they can enter the temple and receive so many blessings, it's kinda sad. Afterwards we went through some big lists of members that haven't been to church in a while, and planned for zone conference. Then we went to eat, and we ate with the Elders Quorum president of Coronango and his wife. He is one of the best members I've met here, he is so good. He shared lots of wild stuff from his mission and it was a good time. We went afterwards and taught more lessons, and then came back home and we still had 4 video call lessons until like 10pm. But it was worth it, we taught a guy named David PΓ©rez, he's 18 years old and he said he wants to get baptized. So we set up that he will get baptized on April 17, which is Easter and his birthday. And he wants to serve a mission too! It's so cool!

Thursday almost all our lessons cancelled,  we went and visited some people that we gave copies of the Book of Mormon to, and we went and visited several members as well. We would ask the members what members we could go visit and help that maybe hadn't been to church in a while. And we went to eat with a super great Hermana, she lives alone and is strong in the gospel and loves missionaries. And she gave us SO much food. 😁 And it was so cool, when we were walking to go eat, I told my companion I didn't like corn Tortillas that much, and she had a ton of flour Tortillas for us! That never happens. But the best part was when she brought out a whole cake and oreo ice cream. πŸ˜‹ That night we went to visit someone that my companion found on exchanges with another Elder, and it turned out it was someone I had lost contact with. That was cool.

Friday I was informed in the morning that my great-grandpa had passed away. It was expected, and I know He is happy with my great-grandma right now. Thank you for your prayers for him, it means a lot to me. It was interesting because the people we ate with on Friday, their dad had passed away years ago on the same day. Weird how things connect. We also went to visit a Hermana to give her house a blessing and get to know her better, it was great. We had some great video call lessons in the night.

Saturday I'm pretty sure we walked like the majority of our area. We went to Coronango, San Gabriel Ometoxtla, Santa Barbara, and Cuanala. And like every lesson cancelled. But we did have a home evening which was fun. It was actually my first home evening in the mission. It was fun, but I felt like it was a long time. Also, basically right where we live was crazy all day, they're having like a fair. They've been preparing and partying and blocking the road all week. It's been harder to sleep some nights because of it.

Sunday went well, we went early to teach our friend David, and then we went to church. He said he liked it a lot. He actually went after with some of the priests because they were taking the Sacrament to members that couldn't come. He wanted to see what it was like and he said he thoroughly enjoyed it. Our meetings were good, and after we went and ate and tried to go to our lessons, but they like all canceled. All but one, it was a new guy named Alvaro, he was super good. He's really humble and open to our message. Sunday was the big party day in Ometoxtla for the Catholic church, and they had so many people selling pan de fiesta. It was interesting. But that's all folks. Love you, have a great week!
