Reuniones, muchas reuniones 1-31-2022
Hola mis queridos hermanos.
Yes, this week has been
super busy. Lots of meetings, and lots of finding and teaching in
between those meetings. Like I mentioned in the other letter that I
wrote late, last Monday we had a huge meeting during our P-day with
President Montejo to record a practice district council for all the
mission to watch. President told us he wants our stake to be a model
stake for the whole mission. He has big expectations for us. And with
the stake, the goal in the future is to have 1 baptism every week in
every ward. It's a very high goal, but it will come to pass.
So
Tuesday, the stake Presidency wanted us to come to their weekly
meeting. We discussed a lot about this new way we're sharing the Book of
Mormon with everyone, and the Stake President said he wants every
family to have 2 copies of the Book of Mormón to share with others. They
have great faith too. After, we had our missionary coordination for
Ometoxtla, and we talked about how we can do that with the Book of
Mormon in the Ometoxtla ward.
Wednesday
morning, we felt like we should take an emergency trip to the mission
offices to steal the last 2 boxes of copies of the Book of Mormon in the
mission, because we had hardly any. And then that night, the leadership
of 3 wards wanted us to come and talk about the Book of Mormon and this
new model of sharing it, and we ended up giving both of those boxes
away to them that we just got. So we were out again, and we still needed
like 4 boxes for Sunday for each family to have 2.
Thursday,
we went out finding with one of the youth from the ward preparing to go
on a mission it was a great experience. We found a family that has a
kid that's not been baptized, so we'll be able to help them with that.
And we had a meeting with both of our ward mission leaders to go over
this finding method of the Book of Mormon so they could help us present
it Sunday to everyone.
Friday we went finding a
lot, and had a lot of lessons cancel on us, but we still had some good
lessons that day. Also, the mission received 100 more boxes of the Book
of Mormon, so we would have enough for Sunday. 💪 It was really an
answer to prayers. Also, we had a mission devotional on Friday, and
President just blew away the mission with the spirit. He tied in the new
plan of the Mexico area for 2022 into the Book of Mormon work were
doing and promised some pretty powerful blessings.
Saturday
was an interesting day. We had it all planned out with so many lessons,
but things didn't work quite that way. First of all, a member was able
to pick up the boxes of the copies of the Book of Mormon for us which
was great. But we studied as companions that morning about charity,
patience, and humility. And that day, those things were tested. Almost
all of our lessons canceled, and almost nobody was interested, and some
people were hard to be patient with. And after it all, we wanted to go
buy tacos at the end of the day. And there was this guy there that
started talking to us, and he talked to us for almost an hour. He talked
to us like he was super smart and we were dumb, and he talked about how
"rich and lazy" we are in the US, and all sorts of stuff. I was really
tired of it, but I did all i could to be kind and courteous, and we
departed on a good note. But when he left and we got tacos, they were so
worth it. There's blessings from patience. 😋
And
so on Sunday, we had our two meetings for Sunday service. And it was
5th Sunday, and the wards gave us some time to share about the power of
the Book of Mormon and we gave each family 2 books to share with someone
else. And then we had a whole stake missionary meeting, and almost our
whole zone came and President and Sister Montejo. It was really
powerful, Elder Arias and I and the sisters and President and Sister had
the opportunity to answer questions, and I loved it. I got to think of
the blessings of serving a mission a lot, and I just loved it.
We
had other good and great experiences this week, but this is all I'll
share today. These areas are really hard, but there's blessings from the
hard. Read the Book of Mormon, find its power in your life. It will
make you a better, happier person. I promise.
I love you all, have a good week!
Love Elder Williams
