¡En el campo! 10-18-2021

¡Hola todos!


It has been a crazy week, and a good one! As you know, we had transfers and I'm here in Almecatla with Elder Arius. We are more out in the countryside and there are so many stray dogs, just everywhere. We haven't had any try to eat us, so that's cool. We are covering 2 wards in this area so we're kept busy.

We also had zone conference and thankfully I didn't have to do too much of a training. We set up situations to practice yeah for our zone, but I didn't have to say too much which was nice. My Spanish still isn't polished. But one thing President taught that's stuck with me is that obedience is better than sacrifice. Because obedience is the first law of heaven, and what all commandment are built upon.

We also had some great lessons with people. We were teaching this lady named Paulina and we taught her the plan of Salvation which was powerful, and another day we taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It was a really powerful moment, tears were shed, and then we invited her to be baptized and she said yes! Plus we have 3 siblings preparing for baptism we met with a few times this week, which was really good. We also have another friend preparing for baptism that's about our age, so that's super cool.

We had the opportunity to give 3 priesthood blessings this week, one member wanted me to give one in English, so that was different but good. We have some really amazing members here, the problem is they all want to feed us, and I don't want to gain weight. We were fed 3 times in one day earlier this week. One of them kept offering us food and even though I wasn't hungry I kept eating to please them and eventually ended up throwing up that night. But it's been awesome, they're all so patient with my Spanish and It's a good time out here.

But yeah, all is well! I love each of you, and keep doing the best you can and trust God!

  Hello everyone! This week has been such a good week! We had some more Elders over to do exchanges with the Zone Leaders this week and it was really fun! And we got to do exchanges ourselves! It was a blast, we had the Gaylord Elders over and the Petoskey Elders. It was super fun, every time we have Elders come over we go to this soda shop called Rocket Fizz. I've been there so many times since I've been here, they  have all these fun flavors of soda! There are so many, and they are all come in bottles. When we are done we smash them with our bare hands. Yeah, that's right. We had a lot of good lessons this week, we met with Jon a few times, Shelly a few times, the Millner family a few times, Maida a few times, and it was great! The only light I need is the light of Christ! 10-2-2021

  Hey everyone! So Mexico has still been treating me well. I have been having more appointments with the bathroom this week, and we haven't had power in our apartment since Wednesday. And now we're out of gas for our water heater. But it's all good because the Gospel is true! Don't worry, it still has been a good week, we had a lot of blessings and cool experiences. We had a baptism for our friend Rosa García so that was awesome. They had me conduct so I could work on my Spanish, I didn't want to but it turned out okay.  Rosa was definitely prepared, and she is so good! Her daughter was baptized a few months ago, and I think that's what's been helping her coming into the church and believing all of it. They fed us breakfast one morning since we don't have power and brought us tacos one night. They're so good! Also bus rides here you have to hold on for life!  I wonder how often they have to replace their brakes, they use them a ton. But we rode the b...

Jeffrey R. Holland, Ice cream, and Water for Baptisms 11-8-2021

Hello everyone! So this week was crazy as normal, and I know I always say this, but there was a lot of miracles! Some brief stuff: It was one of the missionaries birthdays in our zone so we went and bought him a cake and celebrated with him for like 20 min. We visited Central Puebla last P-day, and it's full of shops and culture, it's so cool! And today we went to this cool burger place, the shakes were wild! We had baptismal interviews that went well for our friends thanks to our district leader and mission president. My Spanish has come a long way since I've got here, God is good. It's all Him in this work! I bought some Halloween mask, and yeah. It's really funny too, because kids only want money instead of candy for Halloween. 😂 And they dressed up and did that for 4 days after Halloween too!
