What's up everyone!

It's been a great first week in Kalamazoo! There's been a lot of things I've learned this week and a lot of adjustments. For most of my mission, I've interacted with a lot of older people. But now I'm only interacting with Young Single Adults like me, so it's a bit of a learning curve. 😂 It's almost as if I've forgotten how to talk to people. I also came into this zone not knowing anybody so I need to meet and get to know all the missionaries. But it's been a blast!

My new companion Elder Duersch is really good, he's a goofball. He's a hard worker and wants to do all the right things, so we've been  getting along great so far. We are doing a lot of Facebook and calling people, as well as getting to know some of the members. And we're waiting for WMU to start soon so we can talk to some people on campus.

Our church building is super cool, it's an old Baptist church I believe, and it's huge! It's got an upstairs and a downstairs and a huge chapel. And we only had like 10 people at church. 😂 That's about average though apparently, so we need to change that. We found a new guy named Kyle walking near our church, and we were able to meet later and teach him a little bit. It was really cool! We also met with recent converts named Brandon, Victor, and Corrionna. Brandon really misses these Sisters that served in the KUB (Kalamazoo University Branch), because they moved to a different unit.

I also got the opportunity to go to lunch with Madison my cousin, and her husband Hunter! It was a really great time, I hadn't seen Madison in forever and I got to meet her husband! They are the best!

Overall, it's been great! The work is moving forward and miracles are happening! This week we are going to have a meeting with Elder Bennett from the General 70. We are really excited! And we will have a MLC with him as well. So that will be amazing, I can't wait to let you know about it! Stay safe, and have a good week!

Hello everyone! This week has been such a good week! We had some more Elders over to do exchanges with the Zone Leaders this week and it was really fun! And we got to do exchanges ourselves! It was a blast, we had the Gaylord Elders over and the Petoskey Elders. It was super fun, every time we have Elders come over we go to this soda shop called Rocket Fizz. I've been there so many times since I've been here, they  have all these fun flavors of soda! There are so many, and they are all come in bottles. When we are done we smash them with our bare hands. Yeah, that's right. We had a lot of good lessons this week, we met with Jon a few times, Shelly a few times, the Millner family a few times, Maida a few times, and it was great! Unfortunately, something came up for Maida's baptism and it will be postponed for now. But she is still super excited to continue learning and eventually be baptized! And some more exciting news! We were abl...

The only light I need is the light of Christ! 10-2-2021

Hey everyone! So Mexico has still been treating me well. I have been having more appointments with the bathroom this week, and we haven't had power in our apartment since Wednesday. And now we're out of gas for our water heater. But it's all good because the Gospel is true! Don't worry, it still has been a good week, we had a lot of blessings and cool experiences. We had a baptism for our friend Rosa García so that was awesome. They had me conduct so I could work on my Spanish, I didn't want to but it turned out okay.  Rosa was definitely prepared, and she is so good! Her daughter was baptized a few months ago, and I think that's what's been helping her coming into the church and believing all of it. They fed us breakfast one morning since we don't have power and brought us tacos one night. They're so good! Also bus rides here you have to hold on for life!  I wonder how often they have to replace their brakes, they use them a ton. But we rode the b...

Hello everyone! So this week was crazy as normal, and I know I always say this, but there was a lot of miracles! Some brief stuff: It was one of the missionaries birthdays in our zone so we went and bought him a cake and celebrated with him for like 20 min. We visited Central Puebla last P-day, and it's full of shops and culture, it's so cool! And today we went to this cool burger place, the shakes were wild! We had baptismal interviews that went well for our friends thanks to our district leader and mission president. My Spanish has come a long way since I've got here, God is good. It's all Him in this work! I bought some Halloween mask, and yeah. It's really funny too, because kids only want money instead of candy for Halloween. 😂 And they dressed up and did that for 4 days after Halloween too! But yeah, I just want to share miracles and cool moments with you. (And remember, miracles come from acting in faith.) 1. We had a baptism yesterday, and the c...
