Driving, Driving and More Driving! 6-14-2021

Hello everyone!


As you can tell, we drove a little bit this week. It was a good time though, I love driving! We had exchanges with the Houghton Lake Elders on Tuesday, Gaylord Elders on Wednesday, and Traverse City on Friday. And everywhere is at least an hour and a half from here. 😂 

It was a really good time having tradeoffs with Elder Olson from Houghton Lake on Tuesday, he's a good guy. We have a lot in common, so that was really cool. I am really starting to love love members of my district more and more.

It was great being with Elder Campbell on Wednesday too, he's super funny and he's a good chef. We have a lot in common too with music, talking about music is how I connect with most people haha. He has a lot of talent and he's a good guy.

And on Friday I got to be with Elder Hunter! He is one of my most favorite missionaries ever. I missed being with him and being in Traverse City. It's really busy there now and it's super green! It's cool to see. I really needed that trade-off we had.

We also met with this new lady this week, her name is Dana, she is super nice and really loves God. We are just doing Bible studies for now, and we read through the first few chapters of John. And she said next time she wants to learn more about our church! And we stopped by a guy named John that was in area book. And we got to talk about the Book of Mormon a bit and the history. It was cool, I'll study the history more before we meet again. Besides that we are meeting with a few people, but mostly members A LOT. 

And this Sunday Elder Kim and I gave talks. We forgot we were supposed to give talks, so it turned into 15 min impromptu talks. It was a fun experience, and it wasn't that hard to do it. The spirit is really willing to speak through us if we are ready. 

And P-day was super fun! We went up to Presque Isle where it's super pretty and has some lighthouses. And we got to walk around in the water up to our knees too. We were able to walk up inside one lighthouse, and it's the tallest one you can publicly access in Michigan I think. It was super cool. Good times.

  Hello everyone! This week has been such a good week! We had some more Elders over to do exchanges with the Zone Leaders this week and it was really fun! And we got to do exchanges ourselves! It was a blast, we had the Gaylord Elders over and the Petoskey Elders. It was super fun, every time we have Elders come over we go to this soda shop called Rocket Fizz. I've been there so many times since I've been here, they  have all these fun flavors of soda! There are so many, and they are all come in bottles. When we are done we smash them with our bare hands. Yeah, that's right. We had a lot of good lessons this week, we met with Jon a few times, Shelly a few times, the Millner family a few times, Maida a few times, and it was great! The only light I need is the light of Christ! 10-2-2021

  Hey everyone! So Mexico has still been treating me well. I have been having more appointments with the bathroom this week, and we haven't had power in our apartment since Wednesday. And now we're out of gas for our water heater. But it's all good because the Gospel is true! Don't worry, it still has been a good week, we had a lot of blessings and cool experiences. We had a baptism for our friend Rosa García so that was awesome. They had me conduct so I could work on my Spanish, I didn't want to but it turned out okay.  Rosa was definitely prepared, and she is so good! Her daughter was baptized a few months ago, and I think that's what's been helping her coming into the church and believing all of it. They fed us breakfast one morning since we don't have power and brought us tacos one night. They're so good! Also bus rides here you have to hold on for life!  I wonder how often they have to replace their brakes, they use them a ton. But we rode the b...

Jeffrey R. Holland, Ice cream, and Water for Baptisms 11-8-2021

Hello everyone! So this week was crazy as normal, and I know I always say this, but there was a lot of miracles! Some brief stuff: It was one of the missionaries birthdays in our zone so we went and bought him a cake and celebrated with him for like 20 min. We visited Central Puebla last P-day, and it's full of shops and culture, it's so cool! And today we went to this cool burger place, the shakes were wild! We had baptismal interviews that went well for our friends thanks to our district leader and mission president. My Spanish has come a long way since I've got here, God is good. It's all Him in this work! I bought some Halloween mask, and yeah. It's really funny too, because kids only want money instead of candy for Halloween. 😂 And they dressed up and did that for 4 days after Halloween too!
