District Conference! 6-7-2021
Hey, what's up everyone!
It's been another great and busy week! We had a final meeting with Elder Bennett as we shared some miracles and how the initiative has been since we learned last week. And at the end, he shared his testimony of Jesus Christ, and it was so powerful. If you want to bring the spirit into the room, testifying of Jesus Christ is a sure way to do it. The APs called us later that night, and said that we would get the opportunity to meet with just Elder Bennett for a bit over video call! That was so cool, Elder Kim and I just talked with Elder Bennett for about 15 min, I love him! So I went and listened to his General Conference talks and some devotionals he gave, I would recommend them!
We also had a great discussion with with missionary district this week about the Plan of Salvation, and the spirit was strong. There is power in knowing God's plan for us but it isn't just to give us an eternal perspective, it's also a knowledge that we can be blessed here and now. We can receive the help we need now. And that's because we know that Jesus Christ has felt all of our sins and our pains and weaknesses, and Him and our Father in Heaven are always with us. You all are watched over always and are always loved.
We had our interviews this weekend with President Heap as well, in person. It was really cool, it was the first time I've had interviews in person in the mission. And Saturday we went to Grayling for trade-offs. I was with Elder Spencer, and he is awesome! He is doing so well and has such a great love for studying. He gave me some pdfs I can study from here on out. We met their recent convert, Sam. He is such a special person, he has a great love for God and wants to always do the right thing.
By the title of the email, you can probably tell we had district conference! So its the same thing as stake conference, just districts are smaller. It was really special, it was in Traverse City but it was over Zoom so we watched it from here in Alpena. Sunday morning they did a special session where a lot of the recent converts got to share their testimony. I got to see Doug, John, and Shelly bear their testimonies and it was so powerful. They are so very special to me, and to see them again and for them to have the courage to talk in front of so many people was amazing. This gospel really does change lives, and that is evident in theirs.
⚠️ Also, we have updates on restrictions and rules!
- We don't have to wear masks if people feel comfortable with us having them off.
- We can be more "proactive" and talk with people more in public!
- Going forward we will probably never eat meals in members homes. It's okay though.
Please pray for:
