The End of an Era! 5-17-2021

 Well everyone, my time in Traverse City has come to an end. I will be moving to Alpena now, which is still in the same zone. I will be the district leader over an all Elders district. So I look forward to it, I'm getting Elder Kim as my companion, and he is a technology genius and really good at making videos. So maybe I'll be in some cool videos soon!


It was a very busy and crazy week this past week, Wednesday we went up to Sault Ste. Marie which is in the upper peninsula for district council. And that was super fun, we got to see the Sault locks and Canada, so that was so cool!  Thursday we had our last district council together as the Manistee district. Then Manistee came over again on Friday for a tradeoff with the ZLs. 

Saturday is a day that will never be forgotten! Elder Clark and I had the opportunity to assist with Shelly being baptized! Brother Fulk one of the members in the branch baptized her! They had such a strong connection and Brother Fulk really wanted to baptize her, and the Lord provided a way! Elder Clark and I both were in the font with them to help them out. Shelly has had a long road to make it there, and it was amazing to see her make it! The Lord continues to hasten His work! And he really can change hearts, I realized I didn't have enough faith in Shelly at times. So I need to be better at seeing people how the Lord does.

We met with Mark again, and played some basketball and talked. He is super amazing and so ready for this gospel in his life! I can't wait to hear how he keeps on doing. We met with Jon and Doug one last time on Sunday, which was sad. I'm gonna miss them. It was sad to say goodbye to all the members as well, this has been an amazing branch to serve and work with! I will always remember this area.

It was really cool today, we got to go golfing!!!! I was so pumped!!!!!!! I didn't play well, but we had a really good time. Then we had a Sister missionary  that has been home from her mission for a short time since she served here that came and visited with her mom. And they took us and the STLs out to lunch, and we walked around downtown, it was really fun. But yeah, I'll be writing from Alpena next week! I'll get you all my address soon!

  Hello everyone! This week has been such a good week! We had some more Elders over to do exchanges with the Zone Leaders this week and it was really fun! And we got to do exchanges ourselves! It was a blast, we had the Gaylord Elders over and the Petoskey Elders. It was super fun, every time we have Elders come over we go to this soda shop called Rocket Fizz. I've been there so many times since I've been here, they  have all these fun flavors of soda! There are so many, and they are all come in bottles. When we are done we smash them with our bare hands. Yeah, that's right. We had a lot of good lessons this week, we met with Jon a few times, Shelly a few times, the Millner family a few times, Maida a few times, and it was great! The only light I need is the light of Christ! 10-2-2021

  Hey everyone! So Mexico has still been treating me well. I have been having more appointments with the bathroom this week, and we haven't had power in our apartment since Wednesday. And now we're out of gas for our water heater. But it's all good because the Gospel is true! Don't worry, it still has been a good week, we had a lot of blessings and cool experiences. We had a baptism for our friend Rosa García so that was awesome. They had me conduct so I could work on my Spanish, I didn't want to but it turned out okay.  Rosa was definitely prepared, and she is so good! Her daughter was baptized a few months ago, and I think that's what's been helping her coming into the church and believing all of it. They fed us breakfast one morning since we don't have power and brought us tacos one night. They're so good! Jeffrey R. Holland, Ice cream, and Water for Baptisms 11-8-2021

Hello everyone! So this week was crazy as normal, and I know I always say this, but there was a lot of miracles! Some brief stuff: It was one of the missionaries birthdays in our zone so we went and bought him a cake and celebrated with him for like 20 min. We visited Central Puebla last P-day, and it's full of shops and culture, it's so cool! And today we went to this cool burger place, the shakes were wild! We had baptismal interviews that went well for our friends thanks to our district leader and mission president. My Spanish has come a long way since I've got here, God is good. It's all Him in this work! I bought some Halloween mask, and yeah. It's really funny too, because kids only want money instead of candy for Halloween. 😂 And they dressed up and did that for 4 days after Halloween too!
