TRANSFER WEEK 11-30-2020

Hello everybody! I hope you all had the most fantastic Thanksgivings! And thank you so much for all the birthday wishes! I really appreciate it, you all brightened my day! It was a good day, my companion made this amazing cheesecake! And Thanksgiving was super fun, we were able to meet as a district and play some games and have a good time! And we had some amazing members that provided us a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner. It was a little strange to only eat Thanksgiving dinner with 3 people, but it was still so fun. And I was able to call that night and talk with my family, they were all together with my mom's side to celebrate Thanksgiving and my grandparents 50th anniversary. It was really such a blessing to be able to talk to my grandparents. So that was a really good two days.

     So today and last Monday we went to the top of both the peninsula tips in our area in TC. They were the Grand Traverse and Old Mission lighthouses. It was so cold when we went to try to see the sunrise today at the Grand Traverse Lighthouse, and it was cloudy so we didn't get to see the sunrise. But oh well. And my companion and I got matching ties.
     So with people we're teaching, we got a new friend to teach this week. Her name is Diane, she's nice, but she's heard some interesting things about our church. And we had some good lessons this week, but there was a little less because of the holiday week. And some sad news, we lost our most progressing friend Antoinette. That was really hard and it's hard because we couldn't do anything. But we have to keep moving forward and showing her we love her. Maybe someday she'll have a change of heart.
     So as you read in the title, it's Transfer Week! Transfer week already! That's so crazy, the time is flying! And transfer week is every 6 weeks where they can move missionaries around the mission. Well, I'm staying and so is my companion. And Elder Hatch is staying here too. But Elder Crookston is leaving, he's going to Houghton Lake to train a new guy. He will be missed, Elder Crookston is a really good guy. We will miss him, but we'll get Elder Johnson in his place this week. But yeah, there's my week, I hope y'all have a good week! Always have a good time!

  Hello everyone! This week has been such a good week! We had some more Elders over to do exchanges with the Zone Leaders this week and it was really fun! And we got to do exchanges ourselves! It was a blast, we had the Gaylord Elders over and the Petoskey Elders. It was super fun, every time we have Elders come over we go to this soda shop called Rocket Fizz. I've been there so many times since I've been here, they  have all these fun flavors of soda! There are so many, and they are all come in bottles. When we are done we smash them with our bare hands. Yeah, that's right. We had a lot of good lessons this week, we met with Jon a few times, Shelly a few times, the Millner family a few times, Maida a few times, and it was great! The only light I need is the light of Christ! 10-2-2021

  Hey everyone! So Mexico has still been treating me well. I have been having more appointments with the bathroom this week, and we haven't had power in our apartment since Wednesday. And now we're out of gas for our water heater. But it's all good because the Gospel is true! Don't worry, it still has been a good week, we had a lot of blessings and cool experiences. We had a baptism for our friend Rosa García so that was awesome. They had me conduct so I could work on my Spanish, I didn't want to but it turned out okay.  Rosa was definitely prepared, and she is so good! Her daughter was baptized a few months ago, and I think that's what's been helping her coming into the church and believing all of it. They fed us breakfast one morning since we don't have power and brought us tacos one night. They're so good! Also bus rides here you have to hold on for life!  I wonder how often they have to replace their brakes, they use them a ton. But we rode the b...

Jeffrey R. Holland, Ice cream, and Water for Baptisms 11-8-2021

Hello everyone! So this week was crazy as normal, and I know I always say this, but there was a lot of miracles! Some brief stuff: It was one of the missionaries birthdays in our zone so we went and bought him a cake and celebrated with him for like 20 min. We visited Central Puebla last P-day, and it's full of shops and culture, it's so cool! And today we went to this cool burger place, the shakes were wild! We had baptismal interviews that went well for our friends thanks to our district leader and mission president. My Spanish has come a long way since I've got here, God is good. It's all Him in this work! I bought some Halloween mask, and yeah. It's really funny too, because kids only want money instead of candy for Halloween. 😂 And they dressed up and did that for 4 days after Halloween too!
